NPR App Reviews

Love this app!

I travel for work and love always having an NPR station nearby! I love listening to my hometown station too. Keeps me connected.

Good but room for improvement

Its great but a couple of changes Id like to see: 1. Volume slider for the app/ volume normalization...the app is consistently quieter than any other app on my phone. Particularly, this is a problem when using GPS/google maps/Apple maps- while listening in the car I have to really crank up the volume, but then am deafened by the volume of my GPS whenever it has a direction for me! 2. Option to download, say, all of the morning edition news clips for offline listening. This would GREATLY help all of us save data on our mobile plans. As far as I can tell that option isnt in the app, nor is it possible via podcasts etc.

Great app!

The efficiency of reading and sharing articles as well as navigating makes me a happy user! I do not like the design. Looks a little outdated

Excellent!

I cant stream anything on my work computer so this app is a lifesaver! I use it almost every day.

NPR Addict

Started listening in Miami and moved back up to NYC, the best part of the app is that you can stream from your favorite NPR stations nationwide - so whenever I need a local touch of south Florida I stream their local station. Informative news, objective and wholistic - love NPR!

Great app

Im a news junkie who loves reading NPR news every morning.

Bugs are fixed and app is so much better!

A recent update fixed the issue with audio stream stopping on its own. Now the app works great. I dont always have time to listen to NPR when I want to. This app gives me the ability to keep up with current NPR stories and shows and listen to any local station live at any time. Its great!

Great!

Love it. But please make it so you can add hourly newscast to a playlist. Also - theres a bug where you click on a link and either a blank story comes up. Or a different story entirely comes up - and you cannot get to the story you want. This has been happening more and more lately. Please fix it!

Streaming is bad

In the last week since I updated the app I found that the streaming of my local NPR station is unreliable. The stream is frequently interrupted, and I use the app as my primary means to listen to NPR. Fix this, please!

Quality Reporting, App Needs Work

I fell in love with radio because of NPR and the productions of Intelligence Squared, This American Life and anything WBEZ—all setting a high standard for narrative nonfiction. But the app...I would really like to see the news app take on the design of the NPR One app. NPR One is minimal, sleek, functional and easy to use. I think the news app is long past due for a makeover. If anything, I would like to see it adopt the design work of NPR One.

In need of a revamp

This app is great in terms of content and speed, but it really needs a visual revamp. The design of the app is unappealing and leads to me using it less often.

So great!

Love this app.

Finally real news

Finally a place to read real news. Nothing biased and bought with corporate dollars. Constantly updated. Easy to use.

Very good, with a suggestion

I wish there was a simple one-touch promp on the phone app to simply tell it to play all stories on a show like "All Things Considered" or "Morning Edition." On my Apple laptop if I go to the NPR website, itll simply plays the next story, unless I stop it.

Steam is chopping

Ive had this app for several months now. Within the last 2 weeks the stream is stop and go. I thought maybe it was my phone, or the wifi so I got on their website to listen, same issue. I emailed their IT dept and they gave no help. Very disappointed

Love Apple Watch headlines and app content

Disclosure: Ive been a NPR fan for years. Both local and national news and programming. Review: The phone app is great and with my Apple Watch, I get the alerts and can immediately obtain the details. Im sure Im missing some points on the technical aspect of delivery yet in the end, NPR delivers stellar content in a great package. Kudos NPR.
